The Rebedeau Group was founded in 1948 in Chicago, and offered sales and management training to prominent Fortune 500 companies and trade associations. Typically, these training programs were launched at national sales meetings or annual conventions, and thus began the event management component of TRG.

As the training business became commoditized in the mid-70s, TRG business emphasis shifted towards association management. Again, a large component of association benefits revolved around face-to-face events – trade shows and conferences – and TRG continued to expand and grow their events management expertise.
